Fibrus - storm update
Over the weekend, as the worst of Storm Éowyn subsided, our Fibrus colleagues mobilised immediately to assess the damage and start getting our customers back online, and we have a huge task ahead of us.
The storm brought with it the highest wind speeds we have seen in NI since 1998 and has impacted all of the major utilities in the country, the clean-up from the disruption is going to take time.
We know how difficult and isolating it can be without broadband – and we know also how many of you depend on our network – our teams have been working round the clock to restore service to as many of you as possible as quickly as possible.
We’re throwing all we can at this to fix it, we’ve brought 16 crews over from GB and have mobilised all of our partners in NI.
We have thousands of faults to fix, and we are working closely with our colleagues in NIE to make sure we make our repairs safely and effectively. While they work to repair the damage to the electricity network, we have our cabinets running on generators and back-up batteries.
